Welcome to Camp Eildon
Camp Eildon is owned and operated by The Outdoor Education Group. Founded in 1984, The Outdoor Education Group is an independent organisation that provides outdoor education and recreation experiences for tens of thousands of participants each year. The Outdoor Education Group custom-designs programs to suit our client’s requirements, from fully resourced journey-based school outdoor education programs to centre-based camps suitable for all school and community groups. Our ‘not for profit’ status is central to our work as it enables us to offer excellent value, support worthy projects and invest in improving our participant’s experience in the outdoors.
We believe in the power of experiential learning in the outdoors because it is:
Meaningful – real, applied learning and experiences with purpose, actions and consequences.
Memorable – the experience stands out and stays with you for life. It is fun yet challenging.
Character Building – it enables individuals to recognise there is more to themselves and others than they realised. It improves and builds upon an individual’s strengths.
Transferable – learning life skills to apply in multiple situations and settings. It equips individuals to thrive throughout life.
We achieve this through a firm belief in our values of respect and taking responsibility for self, others and the natural world.
Camp Eildon is set directly on the banks of the Goulburn River and is just outside of the township of Eildon in North Central Victoria – only 90 minutes from Melbourne. Originally known as the Eildon Centre and used almost exclusively by school groups, Camp Eildon has now also opened its doors to community groups of all kinds and families wishing to spend time in the beautiful outdoors.
Camp Eildon is the perfect base for school and community groups of up to 200 people looking to participate in activities such as canoeing, team building initiatives, rafting, bushwalking and high ropes. The onsite facilities (meeting areas, range of fixed initiatives and low ropes elements, kitchen, ablutions block and dining room) mean that your participants and leaders have a comfortable base to return to after the day’s activities or to use as a ‘stand alone’ venue.
Camp Eildon is also a boutique camp site for individuals and small groups. It offers comfortable and secure camping right on the banks of the Goulburn River, with basic amenities and facilities on site. It is a great alternative to the bustling ‘mini city’ atmosphere of caravan parks.
